DescriptionEthiopian Kale is an excellent heirloom variety known as one if the most heat/humidity tolerant kales in the world. Nutrient-dense, it is known as a “superfood”, as are most brassica veggies.Originally native to East Africa, Ethiopian Kale is acclimated to a similar “swinging climate”, as what we have in the Sunshine State. One week it can be humid with a high in the 90’s, then the next week a cold front can move though, lowering temperatures into the 60’s. Ethiopian Kale is very well suited to deal with these varying temperatures.Sow seeds no deeper than 1/4″. Germination 10-20 days.Harvest no more than 1/3 of the plant at any given time as to ensure survival. North Florida: Grow Kale in the Full Sun during the Fall/Winter and early Spring Growing Seasons (September through February). Grow Kale in Partial Sun, preferably Morning Sun, during the rest of the Spring Growing Season (March through April/May).
